Taylor County Bus Accident

A school bus tipped over into a ditch in Taylor County, injuring at least two children on Tuesday morning.  The bus driver was taking eleven students down Oak Drive in Taylor County, when witnesses said another car came approached. School leaders said the bus driver pulled over onto the gravel alongside the road to let the other car pass. Loose gravel on the side of the road caused the driver to lose control and the bus rolled onto its side into the ditch.  The children were thrown to the low lying side of the bus and the driver could not get out of her seat.

School bus accidents can be very traumatic to young children.  Care must be taken to make certain that they are propertly cared for by medical professionals.  If a child is injured in a school bus accident, the legal issues are often more complicated than typical automobile crash claims.  Whether the bus is owned by a private company or by the school district, for example, can impact how the claim must be handled.  If you or someone in your family suffered injuries in a school bus crash, call Bremer & Trollop Law Offices for a free consultation at 877-949-3200.

Unfortunately, many people continue to drive without automobile insurance.  If you are injured in an accident with a driver who does not have insurance, your own insurance will apply to cover your damages.  Your own automobile insurance includes “uninsured” coverage.  It is a required part of your policy, so you have it even if you don’t realize it.  Your claim in such a case is made against your own insurance company and your insurance company can then pursue the uninsured driver personally.  However, even though the claim involves your own insurance company, you still should seek the advice of an attorney to make certain your rights are protected.  If you have been injured in an accident involving uninsured motorist coverage, call Bremer & Trollop Law Offices for a free consultation at 715-849-3200.
