Both drivers involved in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday received citations. Leonard Johnson, of Wausau, was driving north on North Sixth Avenue and ran a stop sign at the intersection of West Wausau Avenue. Johnson slammed into the driver’s side of a vehicle driven by Panhia Thao, of Wausau, and flipped Thao’s car onto the driver’s side. Johnson was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. Thao was cited for operating with no insurance.

Occassionally, drivers are injured in accidents that are not their fault, but are given a ticket for something unrelated to the cause of the accident, such as driving without a license or without insurance. Such a citation does not impact the injured driver’s claim against the driver who caused the crash and should not be admitted as evidence against the injured driver. If you have been involved in such an accident, it is important that you seek the advice of a personal injury attorney right away.
