Motorcylist injured in collision with SUV in Weston

A motorcyclist was injured after an accident in Weston.  The motorcyclist was stopped at the intersection of Ross Avenue and Camp Phillips Road when a woman in an SUV crashed into him from behind.

Video Baby Monitors Recall

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product.

Name of Product: Levana Wireless Video Baby Monitors

Units: About 800

Distributor: Circus World Displays Limited (CWD), of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.

Hazard: Wiring in the baby monitor camera can overheat and emit smoke, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

Wausau Bus Crash Causes Injuries

A Wausau city bus and a car collided at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and East Thomas Street.  The two passengers in the car had minor injuries. The car was traveling east on East Thomas Street and the bus was traveling north on Prospect Avenue with the intent of turning left onto East Thomas Street when the crash occurred.

Pregnant Woman Injured in Stevens Point Crash

A pregnant woman was hurt Tuesday afternoon in a two-car crash in the 2100 block of Division Street in Stevens Point.  A woman, driving a green minivan headed south on Division Street, rear-ended a silver sedan in the left lane. The car had stopped to avoid hitting a cyclist who rode across the street suddenly and was obscured by a parked bus, according to witnesses.

Recall of Portable Dehumidifiers

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, reannounced a voluntary recall of the following consumer products.

Name of Product: Portable Dehumidifiers

Units: About 98,000 (previously recalled in December 2009)

Manufacturer: LG Electronics Tianjin Appliance Co., of China

Hazard: The power connector for the dehumidifier’s compressor can short circuit, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

Hit-and-run accident victim suffers injuries

Byron Anders of Wisconsin Rapids was walking west along the shoulder of Highway WW just before midnight when a vehicle hit him, according to the Portage County Sheriff’s Department.  He was struck near 85th Street, about a block from the county line.

Two Injured In Wausau Truck/SUV Accident

A driver of a truck who ran a stop sign west of Wausau on Tuesday caused a two-vehicle crash that sent two people to area hospitals, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department.  The crash occurred just before 10 a.m. at the intersection of highways J and N where the towns of Easton, Wausau, Weston and Ringle meet.  The driver of the truck did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway N and hit a westbound sport utility vehicle driven by James M. Stevens, of Ringle, on Highway N.
